American Montessori Society Fall Conference to Explore
“Montessori Education: Inquiry, Involvement, Insight”

AMS Fall Conference

The American Montessori Society fall conference
Garden Grove, Southern California, October 16 – 18, 2009

The keynote address will be presented by JoAnn Deak, PhD—internationally renowned psychologist, school consultant, expert on nurturing healthy, successful children; and author (How Girls Thrive and Girls Will Be Girls; Raising Confident and Courageous Daughters). In her presentation, “The Magic Blend: Creating a Culture of Community & Challenge,” Dr. Deak will help identify the delicate mix of ingredients that stimulates children’s minds while protecting their hearts.

The rich event line-up will also include almost one hundred workshops, many with a focus on practical, “make-and-take” projects for teachers; invaluable resource sharing for administrators; and cutting-edge research of interest to all Montessorians. New this year will be a reduced-rate Saturday Parents Program that will include entry to the keynote address and select sessions designed to enhance current and prospective Montessori parents’ understanding of the Montessori approach.
